Flandry and his son:
sit on padded maroon benches;
see nacreous gray bulkheads;
drink Scotch whisky;
smoke cigarettes;
feel warm air;
hear dance music;
smell lilacs;
also see the blue full Terra near Luna against stars and darkness in a viewscreen.
Flandy's philosophy is enjoy decadence while it lasts. The message of the Technic History is that it will not last.

Kaor, Paul!
Flandry advocated sophisticated, refined decadence, not orgiastic wallowings!
Ad astra! Sean
