In the human suite of the Polesotechnic League outpost on Vanessa, David Falkayn sees a Hokusai portrait of an old man (p. 292) so I have googled an image of an old man by Hokusai.
We are about to go out for our one exercise walk of the day which we are allowed under current restrictions. We are living in a sf future of a world pandemic.

I thought this "Portrait of an Old Man" by Hokusai to be strangely Western looking for a pre-Meiji Japanese artist, so I looked up Hokusai. And Wiki does mention the interest he started taking in Western art, from the few samples available to him, in the 1790's. I also wondered if the "Old Man" paining was reminiscent of Titian's work.

We do one walk a day too, as a substitute for the closed down gym: I take a free-weight along and do 6 routines with it at stopping points.
