"The Trouble Twisters."
On IV, p. 115, Falkayn contacts Adzel by radio and they converse in Latin although we read their exchange in English. On V, p. 127, Adzel receives a radio call from Falkayn and they converse in Latin although we are not told what they say, having already read it on p. 115. Thus, we read about the same event from two points of view. Similarly, elsewhere in the Technic History, entire stories overlap. We know what Falkayn is doing in space and also what is happening on Ivanhoe while van Rijn is on Diomedes, then back on Earth, then out in space again. Next, we know what van Rijn is doing on t'Kela while the trader team is on Ikrananka and then what the team is doing on Merseia while van Rijn is back on Earth. History is not only linear but also concurrent. A van Rijn TV series and a trader team TV series would be able to demonstrate this by broadcasting adaptations of "A Sun Invisible" and The Man Who Counts in the same week.

Kaor, Paul!
And this "overlapping" of stories, while quite likely in real world terms, was one of the greatest difficulties I had trying to make sense of the Chronology of Technic Civilization.
Ad astra! Sean
