The unsuccessful try to get work that will send them outsystem or save and go as tourists. The Technic History recounts the adventures of the successful but also tells us that there there is a lot of dissatisfaction. There will be problems later.

At least these problems will be better than if mankind was r restricted to only the Solar System, or, worse, Earth alone! I have argued that the mere existence of a FTL drive and at least the possibility of emigration to colonial worlds was a huge safety valve, easing social and political pressures and strains on Earth.
