Eddies In The Stream Of Time: Mainwethering

For our first "eddy in the stream of time," let us consider Mainwethering, starting with where he works.

Time Patrol HQ for their 1850-2000 Western world milieu is in London from 1890 to 1910. Manson Everard visits the Patrol's "...London office..." (p. 19) in 1894 and 1885. This "office" is "...the Time Patrol's London base in this milieu..." (pp. 667-668). So does the Patrol have both a milieu HQ in London and also a London office or base in this milieu or is the office/base the same as the HQ? Either the office/base, which already exists as early as 1885, becomes the HQ in 1890 or it coexists with the HQ from 1890.

In either case, Mainwethering is in the London office in 1894. In both 1885 and 1894, this gas-lit office is Dalhousie & Roberts, Importers. (Twentieth century affairs are intruding so I will post more on Mainwethering later.)
