The legate from the Doctors at the Ship of Father questions Davis Bertram and learns that:
he is alone;
no one else plans to come for a long time;
others will come soon if he goes back and tells them;
but then lots of Men will come;
no Atlantean can enter or use Davis' ship without his help;
if he had died en route, then there would have been no Men coming after him;
he is an explorer in a big Galaxy;
the only weapon in his possession is a local dirk.
What other conclusion can she reach? -
