Filming The Technic History

I have just slightly rethought filming Poul Anderson's Technic History. What I had already thought: not cinema feature films but a very long TV/DVD series/serial with every novel and long story divided into enough instalments to include all the plot and dialogue in chronological order of the entire history. What I now think: the publication of the The Earth Book of Stormgate to be treated as an event in the history between The People of the Wind and Ensign Flandry. Thus, the first twelve works to be filmed, in chronological order of their fictitious events, would be:

"The Saturn Game"
"The Three-Cornered Wheel"
"A Sun Invisible"
"Hiding Place"
"Territory"
"The Trouble Twisters"
"The Master Key"
Satan's World
Mirkheim
"The Star Plunderer"
"Sargasso of Lost Starships"
The People of the Wind

Next would come "Wings of Victory," preceded by a voice-over of Hloch's Earth Book Introduction accompanied by appropriate scenes of life and events on Avalon:

Mount Anrovil in the Weathermother
Spearhead Lake
the human towns, Gray and Centauri
Ythrian and human choth members in flight
Rennhi writing The Sky Book of Stormgate
ruined landscapes and skies gone strange after the Terran War
Hloch in space and on Imperial planets
etc

After "Wings of Victory," the rest of the Earth Book, then the Flandry period and the post-Imperial periods.

Kaor, Paul!

An ambitious project indeed! I think you would need someone who had both very deep pockets and was a passionate fan of Anderson for it to have a chance of succeeding.

Ad astra! Sean
