Seafaring Councillors

The Ysan Council of Suffetes has not only a Lir Captain but also a Mariner Councillor, a Fisher Councillor and a Sea Lord, thus plenty of seafaring representation. Lir Captain Hannon Baltisi argues that Gratillonius should have accepted the second challenge before leading his attack on the Franks. (The challenger was killed in that attack.) However, the Nine, the Speaker for Taranis, the Mariner, Fisher and other Councillors and the people of Ys support the King. The aged Hannon concedes.

The Fisher Councillor claims that he and his Mariner colleague know something about the sea god, Lir's, ways. I should think that they do. And the Christian principle, "Vox populi vox Dei" (The voice of the people is the voice of God), also seems appropriate.

Kaor, Paul!

Hannon Baltisi would have been on firmer ground if Gratillonius' enemies had had the wit to send only one or two challengers at a time against him.
