History tells us what became of Civilis (Anderson and others got the name wrong, according to Wikipedia) and Cerialis.
Poul Anderson tells us what became of his fictional characters, Veleda and Heidhin, with the former based on a historical figure. (Wikipedia and Anderson give different explanations of her name.)
We would like to know what became of Janne Floris. What we do know is that Anderson introduced Floris as a character in this story but then got her out of the way so that Unattached Time Patrol Agent Manson Everard would be "unattached" in a different sense when he met Wanda Tamberly later that same year.
We know the later biography of Everard as far as March, 1990 AD, in his personal timeline. No doubt he is still active in the Patrol to this day although hardly still resident in that same apartment in New York where he was already living when he was recruited in 1954.
We have analyzed this story more thoroughly than before and have perhaps extracted as much as we can from it for now although I still lack the ability to discuss the historical background, including the historical-political-military geography, in anything like the detail that they deserve.

It's implied that many children of Time Patrol agents become agents themselves.
Kaor, Mr. Stirling!
I missed or forgot that implication.
Ad astra! Sean
