Searching this blog for "Brotherhood of Beings," we find several posts.
The issue recurs in Robert Heinlein's The Star Beast, where the hero of a series of juvenile novels and of a TV puppet show:
"'...preaches racial tolerance and so forth. Brothers under the skin...the sort of thing we all want to encourage.'"
-CHAPTER XII, pp. 125-126.
All? (There is some humour in Heinlein's text.)
If there is a multi-species future, then there will be those who:
have a sentimental and superficial attitude to "brotherhood";
are xenophobic;
try to assess each newly discovered intelligent species realistically either from a pragmatic standpoint or on the basis of genuine goodwill.

That "all" was naive at best.
First contact with any non-human sophonts is best first done with wary pragmatism, good will can come later if matters works out well.
Merry Christmas! Sean
