Would this novel not make a good film? The scenes on Avalon and Esperance; the battles in space; the large cast of characters, human and non-human - there is one Cynthian; the conflicts and other interactions between all of these characters. Ythrians, like human beings, are individuals. Draun is an extreme case. Mostly, we see people of good will on both sides but with opposed aims.
It feels as complicated and substantial as real life although there are more armed conflicts on Earth at present.

I would suggest that any efforts at filming some of the Technic stories start with some of the shorter ones, such as "Margin of Profit" (for Nicholas van Rijn) and "The Game of Glory" (for Dominic Flandry). That way directors/producers would get some experience before tackling larger projects like a filmed version of ENSIGN FLANDRY.
Been wondering what you thought about what happened to that Tory MP, Mike Freer, who resigned his seat because of how he had been harassed, threatened, and attacked by Muslim fanatics and other Jew haters. Plenty of conflicts on Earth Real!
I understand why Freer resigned, even if I regret that. Ideally, such a person should defy the fanatics, refusing to yield to them and continuing to support Israel in its war against the jihadists. Easy for me to say that, I'm not a public figure holding public office!
Ad astra! Sean
Sean,
Freer should not have resigned, obviously.
Paul.
Kaor, Paul!
His resignation was a victory for the thugs and fanatics, alas!
Ad astra! Sean
