Guion And The Timelines

See here.

(i) In what I am temporarily calling the original Time Patrol timeline, Guion investigates "'...anomalous variations in reality...'" (The Shield Of Time, p. 261). He interviews Everard twice and Wanda once, then returns to his home era. There are no further developments.

(ii), (iii) In the alpha and beta timelines, Guion is not born and does not exist.

(iv) In the restored Time Patrol timeline, delete "There are no further developments" and insert "Guion receives a report of the Patrol response to the alpha and beta timelines."

Everard "...remembered his conversations with Guion, and wondered..." (p. 293) How did Guion infer or intuit that these two agents might become involved with a temporal anomaly? He is a new character introduced to unify a novel reuniting Everard and Wanda but no one can tell him that!
