Another clue is that traveling with an Aryan clan sounds more like the work of a Time Patrol Specialist than of an Unattached Agent. Which Specialist do we know that traces the migrations of Aryan clans? Keith Denison. Thus, Denison is Denesh.

This passage is packed with information. Denison's assistant, Agop Mikelian, recruited in 1908 after the massacre at Van, now helps to trace the dim origins of the Armenian people. After several decades in New York, Denison and his wife, Cynthia, are moving to Paris in 1980.

A large, cylindrical space-time vehicle arrives to take Denison, Mikelian, their chariot and two horses to a Patrol ranch in pre-human North America, 15,926 BC. Then the Patrolmen return to 1765 BC and to the Patrol base in a secret vault beneath Hammurabi's Babylon. They tour the city, carefully disguised and closely guided.

The Left Bank hotel where Denison plans to meet Cynthia in 1980 is described as a "...slightly dilapidated anachronism..." (The Shield Of Time, p. 283) and, in 1990, Everard meets Wanda "...in the anachronistic opulence of the St Francis Hotel lobby." (p. 430) Anachronistic hotels are appropriate meeting places for "chronic argonauts"/chrononauts/ time travelers.

Ksot,, Paul!

Exactly who I thought "Denesh" was. (Smiles) And, of course, Keith and Cynthia HAD to eventually leave New York city to avoid seeming to be suspiciously and implausibly long lived.

The Armenians? I recall how amazed I was when I read in the BRITANNICA that the people who founded the civilization which became Pharaohnic Egypt were actually a branch of the proto-Armenians. In that case, I can certainly see why the Time Patrol thought it important to trace the movements of the ancestors of the Armenians. Amazing to think that some proto-Armenians migrated as far south as the Nile Valley.
