Recent Blogging

Recent associative thought processes on this blog:

Jerry Pournelle's CoDominium future history;
within that, Prince Of Sparta by Jerry Pournelle and SM Stirling;
within that, tumultuous events in the Spartan Senate;
by association, tumultuous events in the World Federation Parliament of Poul Anderson's The Star Fox;
also, the Council of Suffetes in Poul and Karen Anderson's King of Ys Tetralogy;
by extension, the entire Tetralogy;
by comparison, other works by Anderson.

I am now well into rereading The King of Ys. The moral of the story: blogging is both endless and unpredictable.

  1. Kaor, Paul!

    And, perhaps a bit to your frustration, I recently mentioned yet ANOTHER multi volume series to which Poul Anderson made contributions. I mean, of course, THE FLEET books edited by David Drake and Bill Fawcett. PA contributed at least three stories to that "future history."

  2. Sean,
    I will have to track down THE FLEET. Anderson's combination of quantity with quality has to be unique.

    1. Kaor, Paul!

      I agree! I can't think of any SF and F writers as PROLIFIC as Poul Anderson. Not even Robert Heinlein or Isaac Asimov. Jack Vance, maybe?

      You will find THE FLEET books listed with the works written or edited by David Drake.
