The Living Past

Poul Anderson's three novels set B.C. are about:

Conan;
Atlantis, Theseus and time travel;
the Roman Republic and the originals of Odin and Thor.

Next in chronological order comes The King Of Ys (with Karen Anderson), four volumes set during the decline of the Christianized Western Roman Empire.

Then there are:

four Norse heroic fantasies;
one Norse historical fantasy;
The Last Viking Trilogy, historical fiction;
three novels of different genres set in the fourteenth century;
the Time Patrol series;
The Corridors Of Time, ending at the beginning of the Bronze Age;
The Boat Of A Million Years about mutant immortals throughout history and into the future;
a collection of time travel stories set in the past or future;
enough short stories set in prehistorical or historical periods to form a further collection.

Anderson also wrote a contemporary detective trilogy, several future histories, many independent futuristic sf novels, four novels set in alternative histories, many short stories, a few works of non-fiction and some poetry.

I kept trying to finish this post but finding that there was more to add and will have missed something.

Tomorrow I travel to London without the lap top.

Kaor, Paul!

A very comprehensive listing! About all I can say is that the articles and stories I listed in my "The Uncollected Works of Poul Anderson" article needs to be tracked down and republished before any gets lost.

And, by now, Anderson's Trygve Yamamura novels can't truly be called contemporary any longer. Not when they were pub. in the late 1950's and early 1960's.

I hope you have a good time in London!
