Reading a sequel that reintroduces familiar characters is like meeting old friends. Thus, Bob Shining Knife leads the FBI investigation in Operation Luna. Bob is a Native American who has succeeded in the goetic dispensation. His working garb as an FBI agent comprises:
painted body patterns;
breechclout with gourd;
medicine blanket (I can't find this on google);
an eagle feather bonnet;
on this occasion also, desert boots.
Contending with goetic forces, Bob must be prepared. His medicine man outfit is the equivalent of SWAT body armor. Every FBI agent has a degree in either sorcery or accounting. (p. 58)
As in Operation Chaos, Bob will have to operate inside the law whereas our werewolf-witch team might operate otherwise.

Kaor, Paul!
We can see not only characters we like over and over in series comprising novels and short stories, but also villains. Such as Aycharaych in the Dominic Flandry stories and S.M. Stirling's Draka and William Walker.
