Queen Victoria who founded an organization to defend the British Empire against threats either extraterrestrial or supernatural.

And in a somewhat different way I thought of how, in THE BOAT OF A MILLION YEARS, we read of Hanno (another Phoenician!) meeting Pharaoh Psamtik I of Egypt and Cardinal Richelieu in France.
