The Day Of Their Return, 16.
There are two Mary figures on Aeneas. Briefly, Gabriel Stewart proclaims that Tatiana's son by Ivar Frederiksen will be made more than human but this idea does not fly far. Jaan's parents are Gileb and Nomi. Gileb was a trader who owned land vehicles. Muhammad, when young, worked in a camel caravan. Gileb:
"'...claimed descent from the founder of the Companions. [Jaan's] mother, Nomi, had a genealogy still more venerable, back to the first humans on Aeneas.'" (p. 201)
A mother with a venerable genealogy... And before the first human beings on Aeneas, there were human beings on Earth, namely us. To human beings whose society has been on an extrasolar planet for centuries, their Terrestrial ancestors will indeed be venerable.
Aycharaych exploits every possible political division: Orcan resistance to Nova Roma; Aenean resistance to Terra. He does not have to invent anything. Human minds carry their own social resentments and conjure up their own religious ideas and identifications. For a while, all sections of Aenean society become apocalyptic.

Kaor, Paul!
Exactly, Aycharaych found everything he needed for stirring up more trouble for the Empire on Aeneas.
Ad astra! Sean
