And any COMPLETE COLLECTED WORKS OF POUL ANDERSON should include in the volume containing "The Chapter Ends" a note saying commentators have debated on whether that story truly belongs with the Psychotechnic series.

I think that every collected future history should have an appendix discussing apparent or actual inconsistencies.

A good idea, one I agree with! Similarly, the volume collecting the four post Imperial stories of the Technic History should include the stories Anderson later revised or incorporated as parts of longer works: "Margin Of Profit," "The White King's War," "Tiger By The Tail," Honorable Enemies," and "Warriors From Nowhere." Any commentary "discussing apparent or alleged inonsistencies" should include how both versions of "Honorable Enemies" has seemingly contradict THE DAY OF THEIR RETURN in an important point of plot development involving Aycharaych (see my "Finding An Unexpected Contradictin" note).
And I would love it if a COMPLETE COLLECTED WORKS included concluding volumes collecting the surviving letters of Poul Anderson. Moroever, since I think we both made copies of the letters we wrote to Anderson, the context to his letters would be enhanced if our letters prefaced his replies.
And special care should be made by the editors of a COMPLETE COLLECTED WORKS at tracking lost or forgotten stories or essays by PA which either had never been republished or were republished only once. Anderson wrote for many magazines which either has been discontinued or were in now hard to find issues. My "Uncollected Works Of Poul Anderson" article might be of some assistance, as a start.
