Some details missed in the previous post:
the guerillas killed Briganticus;
on the river, the rebels captured a trireme and gave it to Veleda;
twice, Cerialis personally led his men when under attack.
Soldiers fighting in these wars have no idea either that time travellers move among them or that the existence of their timeline is in question. However, we, most of the time, do not reflect that cosmic rays pass through us and we still do not fully understand cosmic forces.

It does make me wonder, ARE there time travelers in fact moving among us? Are there secret forces manipulating us all, unknown to us? But to think like that can lead only to paranoia, madness, and belief in sinister secret plots, like the people who believe in Lizard Men!
