A New Monotheism?

Monotheism is an issue in Poul Anderson's History of Technic Civilization because:

human religious traditions survive into the periods of the Solar Commonwealth and the Terran Empire;

at least two extrasolar races, Ythrians and Merseians, have very different monotheisms.

For my reflection on the matter, see "The New Monotheism," here.

Kaor, Paul!

I think you tend to overlook another kind of non human monotheistic faith seen in the Technic Civilization stories, albeit only once, the religion seen in Larsum, on the planet Ivanhoe. "The Three Cornered Wheel" gives us a fairly good description of that religion, which also has some "Pharaohnic" overtones.

I also read your "The New Monotheism," which I hope to comment on!
