The closest mention I can think of in Poul Anderson's Technic History stories is mention, possibly, of THE LONDON TIMES in MIRKHEIM. And mention is made of the Mayor Palatine of Britain being a friend of Dominic Flandry in A KNIGHT OF GHOSTS AND SHADOWS. I have wondered if the Mayor Palatine was descended from the British royal family, which was given a place in the Imperial aristocracy after the Empire arose.
