Luke Devon has had Tighe System training and therefore is a Sensitive Man as well as a Planetary Engineer and a Rostomily clone.
All this action requires cinematic or graphic treatment. Prose is an inadequate medium especially for a reader with abstract, non-visual thought processes. A visual medium would also be an opportunity to show us some of what the characters merely refer to:
Americans as well as Ganges River farmers worshipping the Destroyer;
the other religions alluded to;
the Western females that Banning dislikes;
the Western Reformists' asteroid base which they hope to build into a fortress.
There is more here than we might expect but it is necessary to dig it out of the text.

Either way it might be hard to have a sensible discussion.

A fellow philosophy post-grad student intended to enter training for the Presbyterian ministry. (And later did.) I said to him, "There are Christians with whom dialogue is impossible." He replied, "I know." He and I were philosophers. That meant that either of us would accept a thorough analysis of our basic concepts and premises and not just continue to speak on the assumption that those premises were true.

Of course you are going to find cranks, crackpots, fanatics, etc., anywhere with every possible bees in their bonnets. Joyless with no self deprecatory sense of humor.
