A Hypothetical Narrative
In the Time Patrol timeline, there is a larger temporal vehicle, a "time ship," with internal corridors, cabins, workshops, laboratories and social areas and a crew of civilian scientists who explore every aspect of pre-human Terrestrial environments. It is known that, after completing a mission, the crew had departed from a far past period but had never arrived home. It is thought that the time ship is one of those vehicles that have disappeared into the deleted Carthaginian timeline.
Manse Everard, traveling by timecycle to a moment shortly before the time ship had last departed from the remote past, materializes in an unoccupied chamber within the ship, thus becoming a stowaway. Arriving in the Carthaginian timeline, he exists the ship and remotely observes its fate and that of its crew. An entire new narrative is necessary here. The crew, finding themselves in an exotic future period of a divergent timeline, decide to investigate. Either willingly or unwillingly, they remain in that period. Having completed his exploratory mission, Everard travels to a time before the Battle of Ticinus, then returns uptime into the restored Danellian timeline.
My guess is that the Danellians and the Middle Command would say, "Don't touch it."

Kaor, Paul!
I think you are right, the Danellians would have empathically ordered the Middle Command to tell Manse to not touch that case. Too DANGEROUS.
Patrol time ships might not be that unlikely. We both have read of how the Patrol had larger time vehicles for transporting horses, so it should not be impossible to scale up from that.
Ad astra! Sean
