Flandry's Supporting Cast

We are back home from Lake Como, where part of one of the Star Wars films was shot, and there is still a lot to post about Poul Anderson's Technic Civilization History but right now I have time only for a quick list of the supporting characters that weave in and out of the Dominic Flandry period of the History-

Dragoika: Ensign Flandry; The Game Of Empire;
John Ridenour: Ensign Flandry; "Outpost of Empire";
Captain Chang: "Outpost of Empire"; "Tiger by the Tail";
Admiral Walton: "Tiger by the Tail"; "Hunters of the Sky Cave";
Admiral Fenross: "Hunters of the Sky Cave"; "Warriors from Nowhere";
Chunderban Desai: The Day Of Their Return; A Knight Of Ghosts And Shadows;
Gerhart Molitor: A Knight Of Ghosts And Shadows; A Stone In Heaven;
Miriam Abrams: A Stone In Heaven; The Game Of Empire;
Aycharaych: The Day Of Their Return; "Honorable Enemies"; "Hunters of the Sky Cave"; A Knight Of Ghosts And Shadows;
Chives: "Hunters of the Sky Cave"; "Warriors from Nowhere"; A Knight Of Ghosts And Shadows; A Stone In Heaven.

This list was compiled in haste after traveling for over twenty four hours. Does it contain any errors?

Hi, Paul!

One omission you made, due to haste, was forgetting to include Tachwyr the Dark, whom we first see as a young Merseian officer in ENSIGN FLANDRY. And then again in A CIRCUS OF HELLS, A KNIGHT OF GHOSTS AND SHADOWS, and THE GAME OF EMPIRE.

I completely forgot about Captain Chang, commander of the light cruiser HMS Isis, in "Outpost of Empire," who later served as captain of Admiral Walton's flagship. Unless this was a different Captain Chang? Plainly, he was not blamed for how the Outback Freeholders seized control of "Isis".

And I have sometimes regretted how we don't see Admiral Sir Thomas Walton after WE CLAIM THESE STARS. It's obvious he was an admirable man, "one of the last wholly brave and honorable men in all Terra's Empire," as that novel says. Perhaps he tried to remain faithful to the Wang dynasty after Josip III died?

And I think you should have included Josip, bad Emperor tho he was, in the above list. We see him while still Crown Prince in ENSIGN FLANDRY, discussed prominently in THE REBEL WORLDS, and mentioned directly or allusively in other works like "Honorable Enemies," "The Game of Glory," WE CLAIM THESE STARS, A KNIGHT OF GHOSTS AND SHADOWS, A STONE IN HEAVEN, and THE GAME OF EMPIRE. We don't see his father Emperor Georgios in person, but he was mentioned favorably in ENSIGN, REBEL, and GAME,

We see then Crown Prince Dietrich in A KNIGHT OF GHOSTS AND SHADOWS and mentioned in A STONE IN HEAVEN.

Sean,
Thank you. Tachwyr was a serious omission.
