More Other Reading

Is it of interest to know what else a Poul Anderson fan is reading? No two people can be reading exactly the same combination of books. Apart from Anderson's The Shield Of Time, I am yet again rereading Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy, in which PART II of Volume II is entitled FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, and am also reading for the first time a recently published "People's History.." of political activities in which I was involved in the 1970's so that familiar names crop up in the text. It is possible to read the history of events that occurred in our own lifetimes and even of events with which we have some personal familiarity. For me, this is relaxing to the extent that it usually does not involve finding anything to post about. The computer should be switched off by now although it has been switched back on to post about this. Although some of us have in common that we (re)read a lot of Poul Anderson, our total reading experiences are bound to be different and indeed must be unique to each one of us and the fact that I am reflecting on this now is a sure sign that I am about to turn in. We will probably have a last look at The Shield Of Time, for the time being, some time tomorrow.

  1. Kaor, Paul!

For me that "other reading" is currently MORGOTH'S RING, Vol. X of THE HISTORY OF MIDDLE EARTH, ed, by Christopher Tolkien. Not all the fragmentary works of JRR Tolkien will interest all readers, but some are of interest to me.

    Ad astra! Sean
