Fiction: Everardus the Goth, another Patrol agent, brought this about.
History: Veleda dropped out of sight. The names of the goddesses, Nerthus and Nehalennia, are unrelated.
Fiction: Veleda, living quietly on an island, transformed warlike Nerthus into peaceful Nehalennia.
Thus, the Time Patrol works behind the scenes of history.
