Two Flandry Novels

I now regard Poul Anderson's We Claim These Stars!/"Hunters of the Sky Cave" as a major Captain Flandry novel closely paralleling A Knight Of Ghosts And Shadows so it is appropriate that "Hunters..." should be the centrepiece of a volume immediately preceding A Knight... and is separated from it only by a single short story. Aycharaych manipulates members of other species in both works. Flandry's three defeats of Aycharaych occupy an ascending scale, culminating decisively on Chereion at the end of A Knight...

Flandry's relationship with Kossara goes way beyond his relationship with Kit. Everything that happens in "Hunters..." happens on a larger scale in A Knight... which is, appropriately, longer and the climax of the Captain Flandry sub-series.
