See "Home."
The earliest human description - a long-armed, bird-headed kangaroo;
nude;
small;
brown-furred;
slender beaked;
on each hand, three fingers at right angles to each other;
like Merseians, they sit on their tails;
descriptive names like "Strongtail" and "Rich-in-Peace";
indolent;
but with hidden depths.
I cannot keep such a description in my head while reading the story. All that remains is "something like a kangaroo," which I cannot visualize well anyway. Such aliens would have been impossible on screen until recently but now can be CGIed.
Kaor, Paul!
ReplyDeleteCompared to restless and anxious human beings, the Mithrans might seem indolent, but I would disagree. They had enough gumption to create many different kinds of cultures, even if, for the most part, they were small, localized cultures.
