Old Father And Stranger

Taking a break from writing about religion (see Current Agenda), I remember an example of time travel-religion interaction that should have been included in
Saving The Historical Appearances. See:

Old Father sent stranger (a time traveler).
Stranger was Old Father?
Stranger gave holy fire which will never die.

Pithecanthropean Christianity, almost.

    Re "The Little Monster":

    What or who was Old Father to the Pithecanthropines? A god, prophet, or saint?

    If "Stranger" was Old Father, then Jerry Parker was like a "Savior" to these pithecanthropines Because he saved them from the attacking lione.

    Jerry was also the Promethean bringer of fire to these Piths.

    I see both Jewish and Christian analogs here.

    And the head of Old Father was a RELIC to those Pithecanthropines. Perhaps because Old Father was the one who thought of building a protective barrier of thorn shrubs and crude, un-firehardened spears. I think Uncle Antonio in "The Little Monster" suggested Old Father's skull was a revered relic.

    And I agree! That skull was the reverently preserved relic of the deceased patriarch of the Pithecanthropine band.
