Certain works by Poul Anderson could be repackaged and republished as follows:
A Multiversal Trilogy With A Two-Part Appendix
I. Three Hearts And Three Lions, the Carolingian universe.
II. Operation Otherworld, the goetic universe.
III. A Midsummer Tempest, the Shakespearean universe and an inter-universal meeting between inhabitants of the three universes.
Appendix: two short stories set in the inter-universal meeting place.
This sequence is comparable to Anderson's future histories and Time Patrol series and to the Andersons' King Of Ys Tetralogy.
Kaor, Paul!
ReplyDeleteI like that idea of how to arrange stories connected by the Old Phoenix. And THREE HEARTS AND THREE LIONS should include the prefatory comments given to a 2 chapter excerpt from that novel in GOING FOR INFINITY in a COMPLETE COLLECTED WORKS OF POUL ANDERSON. Then a volume collecting the two OPERATION books. Next A MIDSUMMER TEMPEST with the two Old Phoenix stories as an appendix.
Ad astra! Sean
