I invoke Indra because he is the chief god of the Vedic pantheon which would have been known to Gautama, the Buddha, - indeed, Indra has roles in Vedism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism;
I am a fan of graphic novels by Neil Gaiman and Mike Carey featuring a version of Lucifer Morningstar.

ReplyDeleteI boggle a bit at invoking LUCIFER and MOLOCH. The fist became one of the names of Satan and the other was a particularly gross pagan god to whom infant babies were sacrificed.
