Four Fantastic Fictions

Gods, nations, money and even indivisible, individual selves are fictions! Thus, a king promising that he himself will fund a temple invokes all four fictions.

The Buddha taught "no self" and meditation practices independent of gods;

scientists explain natural phenomena without personifying them;

some social theoreticians envisage the end of nation-states and money.
